Six Facets of Walking and Talking Sessions
Walking enhances our thinking skills, helping us to build ideas, plan, and problem solve. An increase of blood flow with all its healing nutrients to the brain assists us to open our minds to new and creative solutions to the ideas or challenges we are exploring.
Exploring our environment and exploring our minds. Taking a walk together enables openness to relax and interact with each other as we explore all that is possible.
Did you know walking in an open air, beautiful environment has been proven to play a role in your overall wellbeing and state of mind. The Hudson Valley presents many beautiful landscapes and offers lots of opportunites to observe our surroundings which can lead to an increase in creativity, and out-of-the-box thinking.
Walking for at least twenty minutes releases endorphins -a.k.a “the feel good hormones”! When the endorphins kick in, our happiness and overall wellbeing increases which opens up the possibilities for creative ideas, “a-ha moments” and strong connections.
Walking and talking together increases trust, relaxation and rapport. Walking together in our coaching sessions may also raise your willingness share your thoughts, ideas, plans for projects or solutions to challenges.
Walking is frequently the first step (pun intended) as one of the best ways to an exercise program. Health professionals regularly recommend walking when asked, “what type of exercise should I do?”. In our Hudson Valley, there are lots of beautiful walkways, paths and trails we can walk together.
