How do your coaching sessions work?
Initially, we begin with a “getting to know you” session I call a discovery session. This session has the potential of being longer than our regular sessions to provide time and space for both you and me to get to know each other a little bit. This is a great session for us to agree to our terms of communication and establish a secure sense of trust.
After the discovery session, our sessions are approximately 45 minutes to one hour every two weeks. I have found that two weeks in between provides the perfect amount of time for action and accountability to be achieved while not losing momentum and excitement for the adventure or project!
Again, these sessions are about YOU and your needs and values so you get to play a big role in deciding how our sessions work!
How long does a coaching relationship last?
This is sort of up to you! Everything that we do is all about you and goals imagined and realized! According to the International Coaching Federation (ICF), most coaching relationships last approximately 9 months.
How much does it cost?
I offer a sliding scale because I believe coaching should be available for everyone. Please Contact Me for a Complimentary Session to learn more.
What’s the difference between life coaching and counseling or therapy?
The main difference is life coaching is not therapy/counseling. Often, life coaching clients may feel that sessions are therapeutic but it is not therapy. Life coaching supports you in identifying, aligning with, and empowering you on your journey towards specific goals or projects. It can help to identify and connect with possible obstacles, blocks, or patterns of behavior that may be contributing to and preventing action forward. Coaching looks at where you are now and helps to guide you to your future.
Both coaching and counseling /therapy create a safe and confidential space built on trust and healing. Both seek to assist their clients set and achieve goals.
Sometimes life coaching becomes a gateway to therapy/counseling. And sometimes, life coaching clients choose to work with therapists and coaches simultaneously.
How do I know what is right for me?
Great Question! My suggestion is researching both life coaching and counseling. Take time to interview or meet with coaches and therapists to help you decide what is best for you. Sometimes, coaching brings to light information and situations that would best be addressed in therapy. If this occurs in our sessions, it will be part of our initial agreement to respect those boundaries.
I offer a free 30 minute Q&A sessions to all my clients. This session is designed for you to get an idea of what coaching is and how I can help you.
